Monica Reunites With WME Talent Agency, Calls Them “The Perfect Partner”
Monica has reunited with WME, the talent agency that represented her in the early days of her career.
“I’m truly excited about this full circle moment to reconnect with WME since that’s where it all started for me with my debut album, ‘Miss Thang!,’” said the “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One Of Dem Days)” singer in a statement.
She continued, “My heart is filled with immense joy as I reunite with my first talent agency for the upcoming 30th anniversary of ‘Miss Thang.’ I’m grateful, humbled and immeasurably thrilled about the possibilities of this reunion! Their exceptional track record and knowledge regarding my brand, both past and present, makes them the perfect partner for myself as an artist, and MonDeenise Productions as a whole. I look forward to working closely with their incredible team and exploring new opportunities.”
WME also confirmed that her new R&B album, MDA, —formerly Trenches — and her long-awaited country album, Open Roads, will both be released later this year. Exact dates have not been announced.
In the meantime, Monica’s been quite busy. She launched her own label, MonDeenise Music, in 2019 with its debut single, “Commitment,” peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart.
Recently, she joined Nicki Minaj for a select number of dates on the latter’s Pink Friday 2 tour. Back in June, she and Brandy reunited for the remix of Ariana Grande’s “the boy is mine.” The “So Gone” singer also appeared as a surprise guest during the Atlanta run of Missy Elliott’s Out Of This World tour.
