Megan Thee Stallion Announces Upcoming Self-Titled Album, Shares Cover Art

Megan Thee Stallion has set a release date for her new studio album.

The Houston rapper detailed her upcoming self-titled effort, Megan, is due on June 28, via Hot Girl Productions. Making the announcement to a sold-out audience in Atlanta on Sunday night (June 2) as she currently travels on the Hot Girl Summer tour, the 29-year-old also shared the cover art on social media for fans not in attendance.

While the preceding tracks, “COBRA” “Hiss,” and “BOA” intertwine snake motifs, the Grammy-winning musician opted for a different animal with a transformative nature for the artwork. The cover for Megan features the “Cocky AF” performer hanging upside down from a chrysalis, transforming into a monarch butterfly.

“SURPRISE HOTTIESSSS!!!!” she exclaimed, sharing the image on Instagram.

In a recently published interview, the Texas Southern University graduate detailed what listeners can expect from the album.

“I don’t even know how to describe it, honestly,” she described the work to L’Officiel USA as the magazine’s June 2024 cover star.

She continued to explain, “”Hiss’ was me just getting the things that I had to say off my chest. I’m really not focused on the negativity on my album. I have a lot of different songs on the album because my emotion doesn’t stop at anger. My emotion doesn’t stop at sadness because I did grow and I did start feeling more things. I started feeling really happy. So you have songs on the album that are about the positive times that I’m starting to have. You get a little bit of everything. You get all the emotions in there.”

Megan follows the rapper’s last album, TRAUMAZINE, which was issued in 2022. With features from Dua Lipa, Key Glock, Jhené Aiko, Rico Nasty, Latto, Lucky Daye, Pooh Shiesty, Sauce Walka, Big Pokey, and Lil Keke, the album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to the aforementioned releases, Megan Thee Stallion has kept busy with Megan Mondays, a freestyle series flexing the rapper’s skills over various beats. Since its return this year, she has taken on Gucci Mane’s “I Think I Love Her,” and Far East Movement’s “Like A G6.
