Larry June Keeps It P In “Like A Mack” Music Video
Larry June is serenely smooth in the “Like A Mack” music video. Complete with a dream-like glowing effect, adding an extra emphasis on the diamonds dancing in his chain and wrist piece, the rapper reminds listeners of his mindset. The visual, which also flexes a luxury Ferrari, is directed by David Camarena.
“I walk like a mack, talk like a mack/ Gettin’ money like a mack, send a bi**h like a mack/ I ball like a mack, play these cards like a mack/ Ni**a know what’s happenin’, I ball like a mack,” rhymes the 33-year-old in the catchy, repetitive hook.
“Like A Mack” finds Larry June gliding over a drum-laden, melodic beat. The track is grounded in the San Francisco representative’s player-filled discography in theme, however, slightly deviates in sound from the other songs he has dropped so far this year, adding variety to his 2024 library.
His latest effort continues June’s 2024 release streak, following “Dreams,” “Meet Me in Napa,” and “Imported Couches.” The stride could signal a new album from the organically empowered rapper whose last full-length LP came in November 2023 when he and the producer Cardo collaborated on The Night Shift.
“I guess it’s a feeling. That feeling that makes you wanna get up and hustle and make some moves, and when you feel like you’re stagnating a bit or overthinking things,” shared Larry June in a May 2023 interview with Complex UKdescribing West Coast music and his own sound.
“It makes you feel like you’ve gotta make it happen! And it comes from a real place in my heart. From the samples I use to my tone of voice and things I’m saying, you feel it. And that’s my goal. When I’m making music, I’ve got to feel it first. I’m my own biggest critic—I think everything I do is kinda trash. That’s just what it is.”
