Eminem Watches David Blaine Chew A Wine Glass While Teasing New Single, “Houdini”
Eminem links up with David Blaine and watches the magician pull a glass-eating stunt in promotion of his forthcoming single, “Houdini.”
On Tuesday (May 28), the Detroit native posted a clip of himself chatting with Blaine on FaceTime on his X account, during which the two legends exchange greetings and pleasantries. “First of all, you know you’re the greatest to ever do it, right?” Em says, referencing Blaine’s renowned sleight of reality.
The rapper then requests that Blaine perform an impromptu trick, asking, “So what I was wondering was, like, how far can we go with this magic, like can we do like a stunt or something?”
Seemingly happy to oblige Em’s request, Blaine quickly scans the area he’s in, finds a glass of wine and begins to sip from it before suddenly biting pieces of glass and spitting out the shards. The stunt evokes audible reactions from those within Blaine’s vicinity.
Eminem then announces his own trick, which, according to him, will be his last. “I’ma make my career disappear,” the 51-year-old says, leading Blaine to voice his own shock before the release date for “Houdini,” which is set to drop Friday (May 31), comes across the screen.
The social media post is the latest in a series of events said to culminate with the release of his forthcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). Earlier this month, a faux obituary for his famed alter-ego was printed in the Detroit Free Press newspaper, in a section titled “Slim Shady Made Lasting Impressions.”
Slated for release this summer, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) will be Eminem’s first studio album since Music to Be Murdered By, which dropped over four years ago in January 2020.
