Eminem Name-Drops Megan The Stallion In “Houdini” By Referencing 2020 Shooting Incident
Eminem stays true to his brand of shock-and-awe lyrics on his new “Houdini” track. In the song, which references his 2002 hit “Without Me,” the Detroit rapper takes aim at Megan Thee Stallion, R. Kelly, and more.
Making light of Tory Lanez’s shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, Eminem loads up and fires, a double entendre, questioning his chances at working with the Houston rapper. “If I was to ask for Megan Thee/ Stallion if she would collab with me/ Would I really have a shot at a feat?” rhymes the 51-year-old over the Steven Miller Band’s “Abracadabra” sample.
The antagonizing rap line immediately caught the attention of social media as users shared their thoughts on the seemingly random hostility.
“ATP I’m convinced Megan Thee Stallion Gets WHACKED for streams.. cus what did she do to Eminem,” questioned one listener on X.
“Eminem’s career has largely been built on being shocking and provocative to certain audiences … Being 51 years old and taking shots at Megan Thee Stallion? Out of touch,” wrote another.

The “Savage” performer is not the only musician who got bars from Eminem in “Houdini.” The chart-topping rapper also references convicted sex trafficker and disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly.
“In the coupe, leaning back my seat/ Bumpin’ R. Kelly’s favorite group, the black guy pees,” Eminem rhymes, repeating the word “pees” with laughter.
“Houdini” precedes Eminem’s forthcoming studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace). Announced last month with a trailer featuring 50 Cent, the project is due this summer. To promote the single, Em teamed up with magician and mentalist David Blaine, detailing, “I’ma make my career disappear.”
Additionally, the “Stan” rapper placed an obituary for Slim Shady in the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News newspapers to build anticipation.
“His complex and tortured existence has come to a close, and the legacy he leaves behind is no closer to resolution than the manner in which this character departed this world. May he truly find the peace in an afterlife that he could not find on Earth,” detailed the obit.
