Common And Pete Rock Are “Dreamin’” In New Music Video
Common and Pete Rock share the official music video for “Dreamin’.” The two veteran musicians journey through the city in the clip, directed by award-winning filmmaker Raven Jackson and produced by Kristian King, Pulse Films, and There We Go Films in New York City.
Additionally, footage sourced from a collection of Common’s home videos and used in the visual gives fans a glimpse into special moments of his life.
“Dreamin’” comes from the duo’s collaborative The Auditorium Vol. 1 album, released last month. The project features Bilal, Jennifer Hudson, Posdnuos, and PJ across 15 tracks.
“It’s a blessing that we connected at this point in our lives and if God’s willing, we will continue to just create,” Common detailed of the album to Forbes. “It could be in different facets, like of course more volumes of the Auditorium. But there’s so much potential with Pete and I. I do believe that this is the beginning of us creating more and more.”
Rock added, “I think that over the years of being in this music business a lot of magic happens. That comes from really loving what you do. But when you’re around that all the time, it just inspires you to shine in that way. And so it’s natural for us.”
Together, Pete Rock and Common are set for The Auditorium Tour kicking off Wednesday (Aug. 28) in Del Mar, Calif. Additional stops on the trek include Los Angeles, Nashville, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and more before wrapping in New York City for a three-night residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club.
