Cardi B Unveils Cover Art And Release Date For Highly Anticipated Sophomore Album
The wait for Cardi B‘s long-awaited second album is almost over after the Grammy-winning emcee announced the LP’s title, cover art, and release date on Monday (June 23).
Bardi’s sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, is slated for release on Sept. 19.
The day prior, the rapper teased the announcement on Instagram.
“Seven years and the time has come. Seven years of love, light and loss,” Cardi stated in the visualizer. “Seven years I gave them grace, but now I give them hell. I learned power’s not given; it’s taken. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back; I’m beyond. I’m not your villain; I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”
The 23-track LP will include previously released hits, “WAP,” and “Up” as well as Cardi’s latest drop, “Outside.”
After the rapstress already blamed the extensive delay on her collaborators, SZA quipped in the comments of the album announcement, “Lemme send this verse chile.”
Back in May, a frustrated Cardi said on social media, “I really need these f**king features and it’s like I’m not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it’s like come on now! I need that! […] I really need y’all and I need y’all to hurry up and I love y’all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.”
Her debut LP, Invasion Of Privacy, produced two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits and a Grammy for Best Rap Album. Every track is also at least certified platinum by the RIAA.
