Beywatch Alert! Beyoncé Channels Pamela Anderson In “Bodyguard” Video
Queen Bey put a twist on the iconic Baywatch slow-mo run — and turned it into a “Beywatch” must-see.
In what’s being called the first video release from Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé made waves with an homage to Pamela Anderson in the sultry impromptu video “Bodyguard,” which premiered in the early hours of Election Day (Nov. 5).
Serving up a triple threat of Pam’s ‘90s nostalgia, Bey donned three jaw-dropping looks made famous by Anderson. First, Bey channeled a look from the action/Sci-fi film Barb Wire—rocking a fierce, black ensemble including: a skin tight gown with plunging neckline, thigh-high boots, mesh gloves and platinum blonde beach waves.
Bey then turned the tide with her own spin on the Baywatch classic — sporting that red-hot, high-cut bathing suit with rescue can and whistle. Rounding out the third look, the global icon brought back Pam’s iconic 1999 VMAs look with the giant pink fuzzy hat, white corset, and glittery leggings.
Beyond showing love to Pam Anderson, Bey also infused the video with a few easter eggs. While channeling Barb Wire, Bey used a toy gun that fired off the word “Vote,” as she’s been a vocal supporter of presidential candidate, VP Kamala Harris. And when it comes to awards, Bey threw some shade adding “No Visual Awards,” to her ’90s VMA’s look. Bey was clearly poking fun at fans thirsty for visuals for both Cowboy Carter and Renaissance.
Back in Sept. 2024, Bey explained her decision to not release visuals. “In a world flooded with visuals, I wanted the voice to stand on its own,” she said. “These albums are layered with history and artistry that demand time to truly appreciate. The music deserved to breathe.”
The video also concludes with Bey wishing everyone a “Happy Beylloween,” when clearly indicates that the visual was a fun extension of her various Halloween looks.
