PJ Morton Announces 'Saturday Night, Sunday Morning' Tour Dates

PJ Morton is hitting the road this summer. The Grammy-winning singer and musician has officially revealed the dates for his highly anticipated Saturday Night, Sunday Morning Tour.

The 30-date trek is scheduled to kick off on July 19 in St. Louis at the MATI Festival. From there, Morton will traverse North America, bringing his signature sound to cities including Memphis, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C., Toronto, and Houston. The tour is slated to conclude in his hometown of New Orleans on Nov. 27.

This upcoming tour serves as a direct support for his ambitious double album, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning, which is set to release on June 19 via Morton Records/SRG-ILS Group. The project promises a unique duality, split evenly between R&B and gospel influences.

Reflecting on the creative process behind the album, Morton shared, “I’d always been made to choose. Growing up in church, I loved gospel music. You could feel it in your soul. But R&B and soul music, that got me too.”

He continued, “There was always an unspoken rule that you had to choose one or the other. But is that a true reflection of life? Are we all one thing all the time? I’ve been fortunate enough to exist in many of these spaces authentically. I was the same person when I wrote ‘Let Go Let God’ as I was when I wrote ‘Say So.’ I didn’t want to choose this time. I’m both Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.”

The new album will feature the previously released singles “Mutual” and “Mercy.” Tickets for the tour go on sale starting Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m. local time.
