Durand Bernarr Announces New Album ‘Bernarr’: Here’s What We Know

Following a triumphant Grammy win in February, the multifaceted entertainer Durand Bernarr is maintaining his momentum with the announcement of his fourth studio album, BERNARR., scheduled for release on May 1 via Create Music Group.

The artist shared the news across his social media platforms, unveiling cover art that pays homage to classic, relaxed R&B aesthetics. According to official press materials, the self-titled project serves as a tribute to his father, Bernarr Ferebee Sr., and is designed to celebrate family legacy, musical lineage, and his own evolution as a vocalist, writer, and producer.

BERNARR. follows the success of his Grammy-winning album, BLOOM, which secured the award for Best Progressive R&B Album. The upcoming project is led by the single “Wild Ride,” which features a collaboration with James Fauntleroy. Reflecting on the track, Bernarr noted, “’Wild Ride’ is about being ready when the moment finds you. It’s about intention, knowing who you are, what you want and showing up fully when it matters most.”

Album Features and Production

The 17-track collection boasts an impressive roster of collaborators. Beyond James Fauntleroy, the album features contributions from BJ The Chicago Kid, Khalid, and Sevyn Streeter, as well as verses from rappers Big Sean and Vic Mensa.

Bernarr has curated a high-profile production team for the project, including industry veterans such as Brian Alexander Morgan, Bryan-Michael Cox, Johntá Austin, Raphael Saadiq, and Troy Taylor. The extensive list of credits also highlights contributions from Beau Knox, Bongobytheway, Chase Wav, Donnie Scantz, Fallen, Gray Hawken, Leven Kali, MarcLo, Mombru, Ryan James Carr, Sol Was, Tim Maxey, Sam Hoffman, Trinidad James, and Youngfyre.

On the songwriting front, Bernarr collaborated with a diverse group of creatives, including Kandi Burruss, Miguel, Sevyn Streeter, 4rest, b.kae, Choklate, Daniel Church, Desz, Dyo, Emma D, J Hart, Kareem James, Kaydence, and Tara Stinson.
