Corinne Bailey Rae Announces 20th Anniversary Tour

Corinne Bailey Rae will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album on tour.

The Grammy-winning singer has revealed the dates for Like a Star: Celebrating 20 Years of Corinne Bailey Rae.

The 23-city outing begins May 3 at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in Cheltenham, U.K. From there, Bailey Rae will head to North America, where she will make stops in Fairfield, Connecticut; Silver Spring, Maryland; Chicago; Atlanta; Los Angeles and more.

The tour will conclude Oct. 27 at Royal Albert Hall in London.

Artist presale begins Wednesday (Feb. 25) at 10 a.m. local time, with additional presales starting Thursday (Feb. 26) at the same time. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday (Feb. 27) at 10 a.m. local time.

According to press materials, Bailey Rae will perform her eponymous album in its entirety.

“Celebrating twenty years since my first album feels like a beautiful full circle moment,” said Bailey Rae. “That record changed my life and connected me with people all over the world. To be able to perform those songs again and relive those memories is a dream come true.”

EMI Records

Corinne Bailey Rae was released Feb. 24, 2006, via EMI Records and debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. charts. It was later released in the U.S. on June 20, debuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

The album spawned the hits “Put Your Records On” and “Like A Star,” later certified 3x platinum and platinum by the RIAA, respectively.

The LP also earned Bailey Rae her first four Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“Put Your Records On”) at the 49th Grammy Awards.

At the 50th ceremony, she earned a nod for Song of the Year for “Like A Star.” It’s worth noting that Bailey Rae won Album of the Year for her appearance on Herbie Hancock’s River: The Joni Letters

Following her debut album, Bailey Rae returned in 2010 with her sophomore set, The Sea, later followed by The Heart Speaks in Whispers (2016) and the genre-spanning Black Rainbows.

In other news, Bailey Rae’s first children’s book, Put Your Records On, releases March 3.
