GloRilla Celebrates Being Named Top Female Rapper Of 2024

GloRilla‘s year included big career wins and the Memphis chart-topper is excited that her success is being seen. The 25-year-old was named the top female rapper of 2024 by Billboard in the platform’s ranking of 10 women musicians and their accomplishments.

Sharing the news on social media, the “HOLLON” rhymer not only recognized her own achievement but gave a nod to all of her fellow women in Hip-Hop to make the list.

“Ayeee,” exclaimed GloRilla, accompanied by two party emojis, quoting the full list on X on Wednesday (Dec. 4). “s/o to all da women on da list !!! We Dem,”‘ she closed with a fire emoji.

The list, released for the second time this year, updated Big Glo’s position. In its initial reveal in June, the “Blessed” performer was ranked no. 6. The most recent grouping includes Megan The Stallion at No. 2, Nicki Minaj at No. 3, Sexyy Red at No. 4, and Latto to round out the top 5. The latter half of the ranking features Doechii, Doja Cat, JT, Rapsody, and Cardi B in ascending order, respectively.

GloRilla’s 2024 includes covering VIBE’s digital edition, taking over social media with the affirmative “Yeah Glo!,” opening for Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Tour, dropping the hit collaboration with the aforementioned Houston rapper “Wanna Be,” a cosign from Rihanna for “TGIF,” and two 2025 Grammy nominations for “Yeah Glo!” in Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

Additionally, she issued her debut album Glorious, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Sexyy Red, Kirk Franklin, T-Pain, and more. The album sold 69,000 equivalent album units within its first week of release, landing at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, her first project to land in the top 10.

“Last year, I was supposed to drop my debut album, but I was still just getting used to stuff and working a lot,” detailed the “LET HER COOK” rapper.

“When the top of the year came, I had the project basically done. I was like, ‘OK, I gotta give them the mixtape before I give them the album,’ because I went the whole year without dropping anything. That’s why I said I was gonna give them the mixtape first, get em’ back used to me first, give ’em a feel of me, and then that’s gonna prep me for the album. The mixtape did good and did what it was supposed to do, which prepped me for my album.”
