Lollapalooza 2020 Transitioning to Virtual Festival
The city of Chicago has officially announced the cancellation of its summer festivals, which sadly includes Lollapalooza. The legendary four-day music festival will not occur this year and will aim for a 2021 return for the 30th anniversary.
“We wish we could bring Lollapalooza to Grant Park again this year, but we understand why things can’t move forward as planned,” festival planners said in a social media statement. “The health and safety of our fans, artists, partners, staff and community is always our highest priority.”
In its place for 2020, Lollapalooza will do a virtual event on the same dates of July 30 to August 2. Included in that event will be performances from across the city and performances from prior years.
