Charlamagne Tha God Calls Non-Peaceful Protest in Response to George Floyd’s Murder ‘America’s Karma’
Charlamagne Tha God has never shied away from telling the truth or speaking his opinion. For that, we appreciate him as an essential voice in the culture. The NY Times best-selling author made an appearance on ESPN’s First Take Monday morning. Charla spoke to the country’s current climate, following the horrific murder of George Floyd.
“This is what happens when a country promises liberty and justice for all, but only gives you liberty and justice for white folks.”
The Breakfast Club radio host goes on to speak to the history of America. The marginalization and systemic oppression of African Americans within this has plagued its progression.
“Ain’t no good going to come to America until they do right by Black folks.”
In 2020, we continue to bear the same burden of fallen ancestors who died for our civil liberties today.
“All this country needed was a reason and American has given Black people 400 plus years of reasons to go crazy,” said Charlamagne. “I’m actually shocked that we didn’t snap a long time ago.”
On Friday, former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin was charged with manslaughter and third-degree murder.
Stephen A. Smith spoke to this matter as well saying 2nd degree is the appropriate charge former officer Chauvin. Smith added that the other officers who stood dormant and watch the death of George Floyd should be charged with murder as well.
