Meek Mill Says Lil Baby and Lil Durk Were “Smokin” Him During a Studio Session
Lil Baby and Lil Durk are two of the best rappers on the planet right now so naturally, Meek Mill wants to get in as many sessions with the two as possible. Recently, things didn’t go as plan for Meek as he caught writer’s block while working with the 4PF and OTF rappers.
Meek Mill was a guest on The Shop: Uninterrupted on HBO on Friday and he revealed that he caught the blues from the two during one situation.
“Probably six months ago, Lil Baby and Durk terrorized me in the studio,” Meek said. “I had writer’s block, I’m in the house with a bunch of babies, quarantine. My lifestyle just changed dramatically.”
He added, “They start coming to my house and I start noticing, these young boys, they smokin’ me. I’m taking two hours to finish my verse. Khaled know I do nine songs a day. I just wasn’t in it but I fed off of them, though. And I told them there, ‘Yeah, y’all youngins in the building, I’m feeding off y’all today. I need the energy.’ They came back four weeks later, I’m in that room going like this, bangin’ out. We just fed off each other through that time.”
Also in the room with Meek and DJ Khaled were Trae Young, Chase Young, Maverick Carter, and Jemele Hill.
Possibly the fire that was lit under Meek will be on a forthcoming album. Recently, Meek was also in the studio with JAY-Z. After appearing on the stellar “What’s Free” back in 2018, it appears Hov is back in the lab cooking up some more with the leader of the Dreamchasers. Following their Hamptons hangout, Meek shared a picture of the two in the studio. “If I ain’t him it’s one of my guys if You the richest In the room you in the wrong room goat talk wit some billionaires I’ll be there soon,” Meek Mill wrote on Instagram.
Back in June, Meek let off a new single for “Flamerz Flow.” The video for the new release brings Bobby Shmurda into the studio and also features a cameo from Dave East. You can check that out below.
