Melly is currently in jail battling a double murder charge that he plead not guilty to this time last year. Should he be convicted, the 20-year-old could face the death penalty in Florida’s Broward County.

Should Melly be granted restricted release, he’ll be the second rapper this month to walk from a jail cell due to Coronavirus. Tekashi 6ix9ine was let go early of his 2-year sentence and will serve the remainder of his time from home due to fears of contracting the virus.
