[WATCH] Swizz Beatz And Timbaland: We’ve Turned Down Millions For ‘Verzuz’ Series

During the lockdown due to the global pandemic, Verzuz battles have become a virtual, cultural escape for Hip Hop, R&B, and reggae fans around the world. The creators of the platform have now revealed their objective and why they turned down the money to maintain authenticity.

Following up on the recent battle between reggae icons Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland discussed shunning the vultures, who came at them with millions of dollars, in order to keep the platform authentic and organic.

Speaking on the financial aspect of Verzuz, Swizz said, “We haven’t made one cent off of Verzuz yet. That don’t mean that we not business. But, what we have is…Verzuz is a museum. It’s an educational, celebrational platform.”
