Rihanna Encouraged Fans to Vote During Back Out Tuesday

As users of social media stood in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement after participating in the viral hashtag, #BlackOutTuesday,” others used their platforms to remind states to vote, especially the states who held their primary elections.

Singer Rihanna used her Instagram platform to encourage natives of Pennslyvania, Maryland, Indiana, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Iowa, Montana, New Mexico, and District of Columbia to vote. “VOTE. Ya ain’t got sh*t else to do man! Get yo ass off the couch and go vote!!! I don’t wanna hear another excuse!! Stop believing that your vote and voice don’t matter! This the illest way to protest…vote for the change you want!!!” The singer captioned the photo of the eight states who held primary elections Tuesday.

A fan commented under the post saying “Voting aint gone change sh*t,” which clearly Rihanna wasn’t here for. She responded by saying, “Sick of hearing this! Ya know what ain’t gon change sh*t? Not doing sh*t!!!!”

We encourage everyone to use their voices by voting in efforts to make a change.
