Kanye West Announces His 2020 Presidential Run

Back in 2015, you might remember Kanye announced at the MTV VMA’s that he was planning to run for President in 2020. Well, a lot has happened in those five years, but it looks like Kanye has not forgotten his promise.

Kanye took to Twitter on the Fourth of July to announce his 2020 bid for POTUS. “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States.”

Tesla Motors owner, Elon Musk, then co-signed Kanye saying that Kanye has his full support.

However, Kanye’s presidential bid was met with a lot of backlash. While there is not a deadline on when you can run for president, Joe Biden has already received the Democratic Party nomination. People were also opposed to Kanye running due to the very important nature of the upcoming election. If people really want to get Trump out of office, the best thing to do is not to split the votes. And there are surely people who might vote for Kanye as a joke or because of his celebrity.
