Drakeo The Ruler Becomes First Independent Artist To Secure Drake Co-Sign

Drakeo The Ruler finally released the Drake feature he’s been teasing since his prison release in November 2020.

Drakeo released the record on Tuesday afternoon because when you’re independent you can do what you want.

Drake kicked off the street ballad with his infectious R&B hook, “I don’t know if what we have is love, but it’s on my mind/We might slide on a nigga inside this club, girl close your eyes,” he croons. “Lights come on, I’mma need you to come find me/Don’t be so shy/’Cause I know you want me, girl.”

“Stop complaining to me, I am not the one you love/Coming over late night, don’t want no shoulder rubs/In the trenches every night, bitch I’m holding guns/Hold me down, or you gon’ slow me down,” Drakeo rapped with his raspy, signature Los Angeles voice.

Zane Lowe premiered the record and it’s featured on Drakeo The Ruler’s 17-track EP, The Truth Hurts.

Drake has sustained his legacy by doing features with rising artists, who have eventually went on to do good things for themselves. For example, the Migos propelled to superstardom after Drake hopped on their Versace (Remix), which went on to change the course of Hip Hop forever.
